Gerard Guix (Vic, 1975) is a writer, playwright and screenwriter. He trained, worked and collaborated with companies, theaters and producers as Els Joglars, Teatre de Guerrilla, Teatre Romea (Barcelona), Teatro Kismet OperA (Bari, Italy), Theatre O (London, UK), The Rep - Birmingham Reporty Theatre (Birmingham, UK), Focus or Diagonal TV.

Throughout his career he has won fellowships and awards from the British Council, the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Annaghmakerrig (Ireland), the Centre d’Art i Natura in Farrera and the Institute of Catalan Letters.

He has published the novels (hungry and dirty) Memories (Edición Personal, 2000), The continental drift (Angle Editorial, 2005), Hunting Day (Columna, 2007) and Everything you should know before you love me (Columna, 2011) which won the XXI Pin y Soler Award for novels. He is also author of the novel for young readers The prodigy (Estrella Polar, 2011), first part of a fantasy trilogy. A story written by him is included in a new anthology of Catalan literature, Voices (Empúries, 2010), which has a Spanish version, Voces (Anagrama, 2010).

Among his works as a playwright include Save our souls (Finalist in the 9th Mostra de Teatre of Barcelona), Genesis 3.0 (Fundació Romea Award for theatrical texts 2006), premiered at the 31st Grec Festival of Barcelona, I am a machine, and U, Due, Três, a trilingual piece produced by his own company, JoGiJo, and represented in Italy, Spain and Portugal. This piece won the Special Jury Prize at the 15th Mostra de Teatre of Barcelona.
